Kultur Räume Berlin, represented by Kulturraum Berlin gGmbH, awards subsidised spaces for the artistic work of Berlin’s independent performing arts community as part of the Workspace Programme (ARP). The Workspace Programme is a funding instrument for providing and securing spaces for art and cultural activities in the state of Berlin.
In Schätzelbergstr. 1–3 in Berlin-Tempelhof, Kultur Räume Berlin is letting one subsidised workspace for the literature sector with three writing desks for long-term use.
The space is located on the fourth floor of a detached, four-storey brick building on a quiet side street not far from the Teltow Canal. The listed building was erected in 1926 to designs by Otto Spalding as a workshop building on the grounds of the former Telegraphenzeugamt, and since the summer of 2022 it has been used across disciplines for visual arts, literature and a project space. The literature floor is already home to GROOVE Magazin, Kopf & Kragen Literaturverlag and Huckepack Verlag. Large windows let plenty of daylight into the space. It is let unfurnished, so it can be set up entirely around Your own working habits. The three writing desks are let individually – publishers and projects may also rent the whole workspace if they wish. Please state in Your application which of the two You are applying for.
