Kultur Räume Berlin, represented by Kulturraum Berlin gGmbH, awards subsidised spaces for the artistic work of Berlin’s independent performing arts community as part of the Workspace Programme (ARP). The Workspace Programme is a funding instrument for providing and securing spaces for art and cultural activities in the state of Berlin.
The workspace for literature on offer is located on the 2nd floor of the former hotel wing of the Leipziger Str. tower block in the Mitte district, which was built between 1969 and 1982. The space can be used as a single office or as a co-working space with up to two fixed workstations. On the 2nd floor there are a total of eleven workspaces for the literature sector and on the 1st floor there are further long-term rented rehearsal and production spaces as well as three temporary studios for the performing arts / dance sector. The remaining floors house apartments belonging to the Berlin-Mitte housing association and the Werkbund Archive – Museum der Dinge. Access to the 2nd floor is not barrier-free.
