Rent subsidised rehearsal rooms by the hour or day

Are you a professional artist looking for an affordable and centrally located rehearsal space in Berlin?

The programme “Kultur Räume Kontingente” offers artists the opportunity to rent rehearsal spaces in established rehearsal space locations with excellent equipment by the hour or day at reduced rates.

The prerequisite is that you are a freelance professional artist with a registered address (Meldebescheinigung) in Berlin.

This is how it works:

1. Registration

You register once using our online form. By registering with Kultur Räume Kontingente, you agree to the terms of participation (Teilnahmebedingungen) with Kulturraum Berlin GmbH.

You will then receive an email confirmation of your registration, which is valid until the end of 2022.

2. Book rehearsal spaces – via the location

Once your registration is confirmed, you can book rehearsal spaces and studios directly with the participating locations. Please note that it’s not possible to book a rehearsal space via Kultur Räume Berlin or on this website! You’ll find links to the locations where you can book rehearsal spaces below.

3. Pay only 5 Euros/hour

As a registered user of “Kultur Räume Kontingente”, you’ll pay the reduced price of only5 euros (VAT-free) per hour*.

You want to rehearse more than 40 hours per month?

The contingent is limited to 40 hours per artist/group/ensemble per month, provided that the monthly time contingent of the respective location allows for this. In addition, the specific booking and usage conditions of the participating locations apply. 40 hours per month is not enough for your rehearsal needs? Write us an  email and justify your additional need. We will then check whether an exception can be made.

*The reduced cost is stipulated in a framework lease agreement (Rahmenmietvertrag) between you and Kulturraum Berlin GmbH. The difference is covered by Kulturraum Berlin GmbH with funds from the Workspace Programme of the State of Berlin.
