The Cave

Chamäleon Berlin is a venue for contemporary circus in the Hackesche Höfe, centrally located in Berlin-Mitte. The rehearsal space is located in the basement – affectionately called “The Cave” by the artists. It was renovated bright and airy to facilitate research, rehearsal and project work. The rehearsal space is particularly suitable for individual artists and small groups, and for projects in the fields of contemporary circus and dance.

• Rigging bar with hanging point (height approx. 4.30m), one floor point
• Dance floor (additional floor gymnastics runners, 2 m x 5 m available),

Rehearsal hours:

Monday to Friday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

• At least 5 hours per day on at least 3 consecutive days
• No rental by the hour possible
• Rehearsal on weekends by arrangement only
• Bookings at least two weeks in advance

Berlin School of Sound

The Berlin School of Sound offers a regular program of workshops, courses and events for sound art, experimental music, jazz, pop and other music genres, including classical Ottoman, Indian and Arabic music.The soundproof rehearsal room is located in the so-called “Club” at Kunsthaus ACUD in Berlin-Mitte and is very easy to reach by public transport. The rehearsal room is only suitable for bands and groups of 3 members or more.

106.26 sqm or 120.86 including two storage rooms.

Equipment:

• Mechanical ventilation
• Set of double doors allow natural lighting.
• An easy-to-use mixing console is available, as well as four speakers, two subwoofers, two vocal microphones, a guitar amplifier, a bass amplifier and a Leslie amplifier.
• There are 10 music stands and 12 matching chairs in the room.
• Instruments available: Steinway grand piano, Gretsch Classic drum set, Maple, 18″ kick.
• A sound engineer can assist with sound equipment for an additional fee.

Rehearsal times:

Sundays to Wednesdays from 9:00 to 22:00. In exceptional cases, other times can be booked if available.  However, the key can only be collected by appointment Mon-Med between 10am and 4pm.

Centre Français de Berlin

The CFB is an international learning, meeting and cultural centre with many different activities in the field of education, youth, mobility and has been developing its cultural programme for several years in cooperation with artists from the independent scene in Berlin.

The CFB is located on a 4500 m² site with hotel rooms, catering, cinema and theatre.

The enlargement of the stage with the mobile screen makes it possible to maintain the programme of the City Kino Wedding as well as to accommodate other artistic formats (concerts, theatre and dance performances): on a stage now measuring 10 x 8.5 metres, with screen 10 x 7.5 metres.

Katapult

Katapult is an independent production space for performers in the performing arts, with a focus on contemporary dance and circus. The 400 m² space is run by artists for artists and acts as a residency and training space for freelance artists.

SENECA INTENSIV STUDIOS

Rehearsals, lessons, workshops, conferences, festivals… A new district for life, art and culture is being built in the immediate vicinity of the S7/Marzahn station. The SENECA INTENSIV STUDIOS are part of it and offer ideal conditions for creative artistic work.

St. Matthäus Kirche

St. Matthäus Kirche is the home of the St. Matthäus Stiftung, the cultural foundation of the EKBO, and a place for contemporary art and culture in dialogue with church and religion. For more than 20 years, professional artists of all disciplines have been among the foundation’s natural partners. As a result, numerous event formats take place in the church, as well as external events by choirs and ensembles with very different profiles and styles.

St. Matthäus Kirche in the Kulturforum is an established venue for classical music. Its main focus is on new music. With its instrumental equipment, this rehearsal space is particularly suitable for musicians and ensembles of early and new music.

studioboerne45 is a rehearsal space with top equipment and good acoustics. Soloists and ensembles from the fields of classical, new music, jazz and real-time music have rehearsed, produced recordings and played concerts here over the past 12 years.

Accessible by Ringbahn (Greifswalder Straße), tram M13, 12, M4 (16 minutes from Alexanderplatz).
The studio is suitable for rehearsals of ensembles from the fields of jazz, contemporary music and early music. Performances, showings and solo rehearsals are not possible within the framework of the Kultur Räume Kontingente use. Please find the conditions of use here.

Notes on how to register and get access  to the booking system for this space:

After registering with Kultur Räume Berlin, general access to the studio must be applied for at the INM Berlin e.V. office (info@inm-berlin.de). Ensembles and musicians from the fields of jazz, real-time music, contemporary music and early music are admitted. After admission, the available dates can be viewed on the INM calendar for rehearsal rooms; the actual booking of dates takes place directly at the studio.

Tanzfabrik Kreuzberg

For over 40 years, dancers, choreographers, performers, composers, artists, theorists and producers have been working at the Tanzfabrik Kreuzberg on themes and issues of contemporary dance. As a production and performance venue as well as a school for contemporary dance techniques, Tanzfabrik Kreuzberg enjoys national and international recognition in the dance and performance scene and beyond.

Q Space

Q Space is a contemporary performance space for professionals, adults and children. We aim to provide a place for technique, creativity and self-development to flourish. Centrally located in an old Berlin, industrial complex, we offer 2 studios, tea kitchen, dressing rooms and outdoor sitting area.

  The space is 160 m², with a working space 8 m x 14 m. The height is 5.80 m with aerial rigging capabilities. The floor is uniquely designed with Tatami mats and marley dance floor on top
• Studio 2: 40 m², 10 x 4 m, 5,70 m height
  The space is 40 m², height is 5.80 m with aerial rigging capabilities and hard dance floor with marley covering. The space has mirrors and lots of light.
