About this location

The Chamäleon Berlin is a venue and stage for contemporary circus in the Hackesche Höfe, in the centre of Berlin-Mitte. The rehearsal room in the basement – affectionately known by artists as “The Cave” – has been converted into a bright and airy space to facilitate research, rehearsals and project work. The rehearsal space is particularly suitable for individual artists and small groups, and for projects in the fields of contemporary circus and dance.

70 m² (54 m² floor area and 16 m² platform area), 4.3 m high

  • Rigging bar with suspension point (height approx. 4.30 m)
  • One floor point
  • Dance floor (additional floor runners, 2 m x 5 m available)
  • Basic sound equipment

Times

Monday to Friday, 10:00 – 18:00

At least 5 hours per day on at least 3 consecutive days
Hire by the hour is not possible
Use at weekends by arrangement only
Bookings at least two weeks in advance

How do I book a room here?

The rehearsal space can be booked as part of the Kultur Räume Kontingent programme at a reduced price of 5 euros/hour. The booking is handled by Chamäleon GmbH and requires a confirmation of participation from Kultur Räume Kontingente. Please send your booking enquiry by e-mail.
